As the first member of the Western media to interview the Russian leader since the nation's invasion of Ukraine nearly two years ago, former Fox News personality Tucker Carlson announced he will speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The majority of Americans don't know why Putin invaded Ukraine or what his current objectives are. .. In a video that was uploaded from Moscow on social networking site X on Tuesday, Carlson stated, "We have the right to inform Americans about the war they are involved in and they have a right to know everything they can about it."
After Fox News paid a record $787 million to Dominion Voting Systems, Carlson left the network in 2023. Carlson has previously supported Putin and condemned US involvement for the war in Ukraine.
"What makes Vladimir Putin such a nasty person? "He's not Adolf Hitler, he's not Saddam Hussein, and he poses no threat to the United States," Carlson declared in 2017.
Tucker questioned US support for the military effort after Russia invaded Ukraine. Additionally, he made the untrue allegation that Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, is an authoritarian.
"Zelenskyy is not interested in democracy or freedom. Zelenskyy is actually far closer to Lenin than he is to Washington. He rules with an iron grip. Carlson stated in 2022, "He is a dangerous dictator who has established a one-party police state in Ukraine with 100 billion in U.S. tax funds.
The interview between Putin and the far-right commentator will be made available on X and the media company TuckerCarlson.com.
